[47] Asankhya means innumerable kalpas. There are four asankhya kalpas in the rise, duration, and end of every universe.

[48] Sravaka means a hearer that denotes the initial stage of nirvana reached by Hinayana disciples who understand the four        dogmas, rid themselves of the unreality of the phenomenon, and enter nirvana.  

[49] Arhat or arhan means the highest saint stage in Hinayana. The great Arhat means bodhisattva in Mahayana.

[50] Avaivartika also known as Avivartin or Aparivartya which means a bodhisattva who, in progress towards Buddhahood,        never regresses to a lower state than to which he has attained.

[51] Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi means complete enlightenment, omniscience, or the perfect wisdom of Buddha.

[52] Bodhi means perfect wisdom.

[53] Kusala-mula means good roots or good seed sown by a good person which will reap later.

[54] Punya means good deeds or felicity and virtue.

[55] Hetu-pratyaya means causes and concatenation.

[56] Bhutatathata means one mind, undivided mind, a spiritual unity, or pure concentration.

[57] “As the sands of Ganges” is commonly used in Buddhism as numberless.

[58] “Thousand cubes of universe” means a Buddha-world. In Buddhism, Mt. Sumeru and its seven surrounding continents, eight        seas and ring of iron mountains form one small world, i.e. a world shone by a sun and a moon constitutes a small world. In        modern science, it most likely denoted a solar system. One thousand small worlds form a small universe or a chiliocosm. One        thousand small universes form a medium universe. One thousand medium universes constitute a great universe, i.e.        1,000,000,000 solar systems, which form a Buddha-world. Therefore, a Buddha-world is often called “thousand cubes of        universes.”    

[59] Dharmaparyaya means the doctrines, methods or sects. As the living have 84,000 delusions, so the Buddha provides 84,000        methods to deal and tackle with them.

[60] Skandha means store or accumulation, the elements of beings or mundane consciousness.

[61] Dhvaja means a pennant, streamer, flag or sign.

[62] Sala Tree means the teak tree.

[63] Tathagata is one of the highest titles of a Buddha, which means one who comes to attain perfect wisdom or the absolute way        of cause and effect.

[64] Samyagbuddhi is one of the highest titles of a Buddha, which means the perfect universal wisdom of a Buddha.

[65] Vidya-carana-sampanna is one of the epithets of Buddha, which means the unexcelled universal enlightenment of the Buddha        based on the discipline, meditation and wisdom, or the knowledge-conduct-perfect.

[66] Sugata is one of the epithets of Buddha, which means gone as he should go.

[67] Lokavid is one of the epithets of Buddha, which means knower of the world.

[68] Anuttara is one of the ten epithets of Buddha, which means the peerless nobleman.

[69] Purusa-damya-sarathi is one of the ten epithets of Buddha, which means a master of tame and control.

[70] Sasta Devamanusyanam is one of the ten epithets of Buddha, which means the teacher of devas and men.  

[71] Lokajyestha means the world’s most venerable, world-honored, or the lord of worlds.  

[72] Saha World means the Earth.

[73] Drsti-kasaya means corruption of doctrinal views or deterioration of views.

[74] The impurity of affliction means the defiling nature of passions, i.e. the passions and delusions of desire, anger, stupidity, pride        and doubt prevail.

[75] Sattvakasaya means all creatures are stupid, ignorant and unclean.

[76] Predestination means the prophecy of a bodhisattva’s future Buddhahood by a Buddha.

[77] Sambhara means supplies for body and soul.

[78] Anuttara-Samyagbodhi means the supreme and perfect universal wisdom.
