Further, Sariputra, if all sentient beings are born in this land, they all are Avaivartika[50] and ready to attain Buddhahood in this lifetime, and will never fall into various risky and evil destinations. They travel around all Buddhas’ Purelands constantly. With their remarkable and outstanding vows and disciplines, and zealous progressiveness thought after thought, they shall attain Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi[51]. Sariputra, if all sentient beings hear about this Western Amitabha Pureland and its indefinite virtue, merit and solemnity, they should vow to give birth in this World. Why? If they are born in this Land, they can get together with all such virtuous, dignified, and superior good persons; receive and benefit from such virtuous, solemn and pure Buddha Land and the dharma joy of Mahayana; and will never regress. With indefinite vows and disciplines and zealous progressiveness thought after thought, they will attain the supreme perfect bodhi[52] expeditiously.         

Sariputra, all sentient beings, who are born in this Buddha’s Land, achieve infinite and illimitable virtue and merit. Those who are not short of good roots[53], good deeds[54], concatenation of cause and effect[55] shall be reborn in it. If there are pure, faithful and virtuous men or women hear about the unimaginable saintly Name of Amitabha and the meritorious virtue and solemnity of Utmost Bliss World, they contemplate, hold firmly, and fix their mind on the Name for a day and night, or two, or three, or four, or five, or six, or seven and achieve one mind[56] without distraction. [Whole-heartedly holding the name and because of citing the name all sins are purged and extinct – this is so-called with abundant good roots, good deeds and concatenation of cause and effect.]  At the time of his/her deathbed, Amitabha and all saints will appear in front of him/her, help and safeguard him/her with kindness and compassion, and keep his/her mind from distraction. When his/her life ends, his/her mind will not derange, and he/she shall be reborn in Amitabha’s Utmost Bliss World – Pure Buddha Land.

Sariputra, I see such benefit, comfort and joy, and important cause and concatenation, and therefore speak the truth and axiom. If sentient beings hear my statements, they all should believe, accept and make vows; observe and discipline as I said; and be born in this Buddha’s Land.   

Sariputra, as I now praise and extol Amitabha’s incredible Buddha Land and its virtue and merit, there are also now in the east Aksobhya Buddha, Merudhvaja Buddha, Great Sumeru Buddha, Sumeru Light Buddha, Wonderful Voice Buddha, etc. so many Buddhas as the sands of Ganges[57]. Each resides in his own Buddha Pureland of the East and demonstrates the appearance of broad and long tongue covering thousand cubes of universe[58] completely and telling the truth. You all sentient beings shall believe and accept this dharma doctrine[59], and trust and praise this incredible Buddha Land and its virtue and merit. This is the Sutra guarded and cared for by all Buddhas.
